Robert ingår i FBA:s resursbas med valobservatörer som regelbundet åker ut på uppdrag för att bevaka olika val i världen. Han är normalt bosatt i Suderbyns ekoby på Gotland där han är fritidspolitiker. Robert är även ordförande i det europeiska nätverket för lokala initiativ för klimat och hållbarhet (ECOLISE).
